Bishop Brian David Moore is a native of Mt. Vernon, New York. He attended Mercy University in Bronxville, New York where he majored in Psychology. Bishop Moore accepted the call to the ministry and preached his initial sermon on February 14, 1988. In September 1989, Bishop Moore relocated to Charleston, South Carolina, where he founded the first African Methodist Episcopal A. M. E. Zion Church ever in that city, Abundant Life Tabernacle A. M. E. Zion Church located in historic downtown Charleston. With one member, Bishop Moore served, grew and nurtured that church to over 1500 members, 40 ministries, and a host of ministerial sons and daughters.
In the year 2000, Bishop Moore, led of the Lord, severed all ties with the A. M. E. Zion denomination and organized The Life Center Cathedral of Charleston, South Carolina and The Life Center of Charlotte, North Carolina; one church in two locations. Later that same year, Bishop Moore also birthed the Life Center Fellowship Ministries, a fellowship of interdependent churches and ministries in the southeastern United States and the Bahamas Islands. He currently oversees nine (9) Life Center Fellowship churches.
Bishop Moore served as Minister of Music for many years prior to accepting his call to preach. He worked with many pastors and churches and has shared in the gospel music ministry with such artists as the late Rev. James Cleveland, Albertina Walker, Bishop Walter and Edwin Hawkins, Tramaine Hawkins, John P. Kee, and others.
He also has served as the musician for the New York Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America and personal traveling musician for Bishop Albert Jamison and Overseer Michel White-Haynes for many years.
His involvement with in the Gospel Music Workshop of America for many years was recognized by the leadership of that organization. He currently serves on the Board of Directors and as the Vice Chair of the Board of Finance of GMWA.
Bishop Moore is member of the Pentecostal Churches of Jesus Christ that was founded by the late Bishop Kenneth Moales, Sr. Bishop Hezekiah Walker is now the presiding prelate of this organization.
Bishop Moore’s continued leadership and desire for kingdom building has been recognized by many leaders in the Body of Christ. In March 2014, Bishop Neil C. Ellis, Presiding Prelate of the Global United Fellowship, appointed Bishop Moore as the Provincial Bishop of the East Coast of the United States of America. This assignment includes oversight over the Global United Fellowship churches in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia, District of Columbia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine and Rhode Island.
Bishop Moore is the husband of Elder Jametta Chandler Moore, who serves with him in ministry. They have two children, Chandler David and Chayla Danielle.
